April Showers in May?
I hope I've got this figured out correct, but if it rained all summer last year and was hot and sunny in April and May, does that mean the deal this year is that if it keeps on raining for another 3 weeks or so we are in for a scorching hot summer? With all the things going on at Dale Lodge that is what we need! Lots of couples will be tying the knot in style with a perfect wedding at Dale Lodge. With the beautiful gardens, elegant food and unbeatable service there can be no better place to hold a wedding.
Then in September we see the return of The Grasmere Guzzler Beer Festival for the third year of music, food and of course gallons and gallons of real ale, cider and perry.
With live music every Sunday night and a pub quiz every Thursday with a prize of a gallon of beer, a little sunshine is all we need for a perfect summer!

Guzzler Festival - music line up announced
Friday 4th September - Opening day of the 3rd Annual Grasmere Guzzler Beer Festival.
The frivolities kick off at 12 noon with over 30 real ales and ciders for you to savour. Afternoon entertainmant comes from local talent - Seth and The Sideburns, performing a mixture of covers and his own original material from around 4pm.
In the evening we have Kendal's finest - The Riffs. Check out their music at http://www.myspace.com/theriffsuk
Saturday 5th September sees the start of the culinary delights. To soak up some of the beer we have a delicious hog roast and barbecue. With the beer in full flow by now we also have music in the garden (weather permitting) from the foot-stomping 'Bag of Spanners' http://www.myspace.com/thebagofspanners.
In the evening we have a double whammy. Back by popular demand, we have 'The Mekitts' http://www.myspace.com/themekkits and local favourites 'The Witch and The Robot' http://www.myspace.com/thewitchandtherobot. Again, with a late bar till midnight the fun just keeps on going.
Sunday 6th September sees the close of the festival, but we won't let go without a fight. With a Sunday roast served until 4pm and hog roast and barbecue in the afternoon, there will be no excuse for going hungry. Afternoon entertainment in the garden (weather permitting) otherwise in the marquee from the exquisitely talented Kirk McElhinney http://www.myspace.com/kirkmcelhinney. In the evening we have the return of Pete Lashley http://www.myspace.com/petelashleymusic, this time he is bringing the re-inforcements in the form of his full band. We only have until midnight to eat all the food and drink all the beer, so come down and give us a hand.
