It features an array of letters and works by the famous literary family including the first draft of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and poetry by Percy Bysshe Shelley. Last week we welcomed Simon Armitage to Grasmere for his reading at St Oswald's Church, which was fantastic as ever and next week we have Clare Pollard and Susan Wicks reading from their latest collections.
It is now only 6 weeks to the annual Grasmer Guzzler Festival. The frivolities begin on September 2nd and continue until the evening ofSunday 4th. There will be over 40 real ales available, live music throughout the weekend as well as a barbeque and hog roast featuring the best of local produce. The rooms at Dale Lodge are nearly full already with keen festival goers, but we do hope you will still be able to come and join in the fun for hopefully a sunny weekend.
